Photo 1:  We were given so many great picture books at our baby shower!  Thanks to our generous friends, Baby Calhoun’s library is off to a great start!

Photo 2:  A simple “professional profile” portrait session for BRAVA Magazine.

Photo 3:  Sometimes I like to prop my hand on my belly now-a-days.  Handy little arm rest!

Photo 4:  Mom and I road-tripped it out to Brunswick, Ohio to see Citizen Way play!  I am committed to making at least one performance per tour they are on and since Brunswick was as close as it was gonna get we made it happen!

Photo 5:  Sam was giving some creepy eyes.  He’s funny.

Photo 6:  I love that I have had such a steady increase of boudoir photography work to do!  I did this incredible boudoir shoot at the studio last week!  Can’t wait to work on these images and put together an album for her to give to her lucky husband-to-be!

Photo 1:  Sam is ruining the pillows on our couch… but he does look adorable while doing it at least!

Photo 2:  When Josh is gone I end up taking “selfies” per his request.  This one, after hunting through all of my clothes (because it is never easy to find something that covers my belly anymore) I was ready to head to Mama and Papa-in-laws to finish planting the garden!  This year I have tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, zucchini, green beans, carrots, beets, and lettuce growing so far!  In this photo I am 34 weeks pregnant.

Photo 3:  I just love this wedding invite!  Can’t wait to stand up in Hannah and Austin’s wedding!  P.S.  Did their engagement shoot a week ago and y’all are in for a visual treat that’s for sure!

Photo 4:  I got to do an interior design shoot for the Home and Garden issue BRAVA Magazine is doing for June.  Since I cannot technically reveal photos before publication I snuck this little photo while I was there!

Photo 5:  I did an incredible boudoir shoot at the studio last week!  Can’t wait to work on these images and to hear all about how much her husband-to-be loves them!

Photo 6:  Since Josh couldn’t make it to the MN baby shower we had to send him a photo 🙂  In this photo I am 35 weeks pregnant.

Photo 7:  Haley hunted a big fly all day.  Even into the night here she is waiting for the assailant to come back out of the lamp.

Featured in BRAVA Magazine’s May Issue

I have the privilege of doing freelance photography with BRAVA Magazine.  I absolutely love working for them!  I get to do a whole variety of work for them from advertisement photography to event photography and everything in-between.  Besides, I love any excuse to go up to Madison.

For their May issue I was grinning ear to ear as I flipped through the pages and saw my work littering the magazine.  Below is my work in print!

I primarily freelance photograph in the Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois areas but am available for travel worldwide!  Contact me at asunshinemoment@gmail.com with the subject line “freelance photography” to hire me!

This shoot at Dog Haus University was wicked fun!  The dogs were all over me the whole time, particularly a trio of dogs I unfortunately wasn’t able to get on camera because they were so bent on being on top of me.  They were the cutest!  Send me to photograph dogs anytime!

The upper left image is mine.  I had a lot of fun staging those products and they smelled amazing!May 2014_2We had to march up several flights of stairs to get the awesome lighting for this shot but it was worth it!  I was panting by the time we got there due to my baby belly but the ladies were super sweet about it – there was another woman there leading us around.
May 2014_3This event was so much fun!  There were so many unique things to photograph throughout the day and I had a lot of fun people watching in-between shots. And yup, that’s a real, live kangaroo!  (Not sure why the blue is blown out of proportion, but I suppose I messed up a setting in converting the PDF to JPEG, sorry about that folks!)
May 2014_4 The upper half of the spread is mine.  This event also supplied a plethora of tasty treats for this pregnant lady!  Yum!May 2014_5

Senior Portraits Post Cards

This year I made a bold move.  I absolutely love photographing Senior portraits.  So, in an effort to gain more exposure among such folk I printed post cards and sent them out to the list of Juniors at Milton High School provided to me by their lovely secretary.  I love how these cards turned out!  Now I’m just excited to see how many Seniors love them too!

Photo 1:  My 8MO session with Scarlett!

Photo 2:  With the nice weather I opened the windows in the studio… I look over to see Haley trying to get as close to said window without falling off the couch.

Photo 3:  A spread of my photography in BRAVA Magazine‘s April issue!

Photo 4:  BRAVA Magazine gifts all their freelance photographers an ad once a year.  Mine ran in the April issue!

Photo 5: Our house is a busy place with Josh hosting music lessons and me conducting my in-home photography studio.  I made this sign so I can welcome his students into the house without having to drop my work to go answer the doorbell.  I figure this will be particularly necessary when we have a dozing baby!  You wake the baby, you die! Just kidding.

Photo 6:  I also made this palette board map art this weekend.  Since we can’t paint our walls in our apartment I wanted to get the baby’s colors incorporated into our space somehow!

Photo 7:  An attempt at a prego selfie (31 weeks pregnant).  All you folks who have mastered the prego selfie, I don’t know how you do it!  I find it very troublesome standing sideways while holding the camera in a place that won’t block anything and still manage to snap the picture without dropping my phone…
