I am offering my Valentine’s MINI sessions again this year! This annual MINI session offering is such a hit I simply have to keep it going!

MINI session ideas:

Couples: give your love the gift of some photos of the two of you!
Kids: a chance to get the kids on camera for a very affordable price. A great gift from the kids or a spouse.
Boudoir: a great Valentine’s gift for your guy! Best ways to give the photos: an album or a print for his bedside table.

DETAILS

$50 for a 20 minute session at the studio
10 – 20 edited high resolution images on a disc
Two options for use: get your session in before vday to give the finished pics as a gift OR purchase the session as a gift card to give on vday.

I sure have been busy! I got to do a family/newborn/baby shoot, a senior portraits session, and did 2-month-old photos of Maisy. We also went to a Brewers game with Josh’s parents! Basically, the week was full of photo fun and some newness with Maisy – I finally got her pathetically adorable frown on camera and she tried out the Bumbo this week and loved it!

… well actually she is 2 months next week but these photos were taken at 1 month.

Being a Mom is so much better than I imagined, Maisy is way more fun than I could have dreamed, and I am way more in love than I thought myself capable. Every time I look at this little girl my heart seems to bubble with joy. I look at her and see all the goodness there is to be had in life, especially when she smiles her big, goofy grin back up at me. I’ve been told so many times to enjoy every minute with this little girl because time will fly so I am trying my hardest to do just that! On of my ways is by taking photos of her like this. I’m thankful even more now than ever for my passion for photography because this really is the only way I get to freeze my little girl in time.

My intention for this shoot was to also get her outside but that just didn’t happen. Maybe for her 2 month I can do the outdoorsy things I had hoped to accomplish in the 1 month… we will see. What I did do though were some basic shots of her because I want to do the same shot every month for a year to better see how she’s growing and changing. I also did some on the quilt I made her and photographed her adorable little details (eyes, mouth, etc). I’m also tickled that I got some photos of her with Grammie and even me!

a Photo a Day | June 16 – 29

I went into labor on June 16, finally had Maisy on June 19, and stayed at the hospital until June 21 as my husband and a bunch of fantastic family and friends moved us into our house. Finally, on June 21 my husband brought me and Miss Maisy home and I’ve been figuring this mom thing out while trying to unpack and catch up on my photography work… all while trying to rest and recover from giving birth. The past two weeks were not forgotten photographicallly though! During labor my doula took some beautiful photos on my phone. After birth and ever since I just can’t take enough photos of Maisy!

an engagement session with a little bit of rain and a brilliant evening glow (Hannah + Austin are engaged!) – Janesville wedding photography

First of all, I apologize for the excess of images in this post. Obviously I had too much fun with Hannah + Austin. But, I promise they are all worth it!

Hannah + Austin are dear friends of mine. Turns out, I have the honor of standing next to this beauty on her wedding day! For their wedding gift I gave an engagement session and boy am I glad I did! Not only do I love getting the opportunity to photograph friends but this session couldn’t have been more perfect! The evening light and these two were so gorgeous I didn’t stop photographing for over 2 hours. There is also something beautiful about doing photography for free every now and then. It’s like I have a sort of release and my creative juices actually flow freer because I feel unabashed in asking for outrageous things – like having them climb up into the under workings of a train bridge or myself climbing up into a tree. This session was so wonderful because I had driven past these photo spots so many times I was dying to use them, I got to work with two creatives (they are both musicians and Hannah is also a photographer), and you can’t beat an evening glow under a little bit of weather! I mean, come one, the first shots look like we did our session somewhere in Ireland. Just downtown Janesville folks!

Hannah + Austin, I had such a blast with you two creating these images and I can’t wait for your big day! Whoot whoot!
